Man of the Match Jacques Kallis took 2 wickets in 3 overs, and followed it up with an unbeaten (49-ball) 57 which included 5 fours and a six.Owais Shah was the lone Englishman to withstand the Proteas' onslaught with 38 off 33 balls in a game where four of the top seven batsmen managed only four runs between them.

Aaron Redmond, who was called up into the New Zealand side quite unexpectedly following non-availability of Jesse Ryder, Ross Taylor and Daniel Vettori, played an astonishing innings, to blast 63 off 30 balls.Chasing 198, Ireland were soon 15 for 2, but Wilson and Andre Botha steadied their innings, but couldn't match the asking run-rate.
In a match that featured a set of brothers from each side, the McCullum brothers shined, with Nathan picking up 3 for 15, while his brother Brendon was outstanding in the infield, effecting run outs of John Mooney and Johnston, and then took a sharp catch to dismiss Cusack. O'Brien brothers had a forgettable match, scoring just 5 runs between them.
